My intention is to buy the mini2440 which come with lpt h-jtag,

but most of my work  is on my laptop and it hasn't such parallel ports.

can i use the parallel port - USB converter? or i have to buy USB H-jtag beside the mini2440.

In my option,H-JTAG don't support a parallel port-USB converter because the converter has not a real parallel port address. So you should buy a USB H-JTAG.

however the FX2LP is noch cheap, so you wil have to spend 50$ for FX2LP  based USB2LPT converter and you probably opaid already for the LPT wiggler - i think it is better to spend directly 80$ to get h-jtag usb personal edition.
